Food business and ground realities in Pakistan

We all know that the coronavirus has had a devastating effect on the economy. It has also affected the food business.

At the government level, large-scale food businesses are being forced to keep their time to a minimum or shut down altogether. As a result, the food business has made a huge difference in its profits. Food business faces many challenges, some of which are as follows:

1) Open infrastructure

Many restaurants do not have the infrastructure to provide open dining. Restaurants are being forced by the local administration to provide dining facilities in limited time and in the open area.

Prior to Corona, many restaurants did not have an open structure that could accommodate people in the open air. Also, there are many restaurants that do not have enough space and are unable to accommodate people in an open environment.

2) Increased costs:

Costs have skyrocketed due to hand sanitizers and other safety measures. All restaurants are being required by the regional administration to comply with mandatory hand sanitizer, paper tissues and other similar safety arrangements. And security signs are being put up, which has led to an increase in cost. Restaurants are being required to check the temperature of every incoming customer and make sure they are wearing masks and if they are not wearing masks then it should be given. In the case of an employee's illness, it is also the responsibility of the restaurant owners to get their corona tested.

3) Minimum time to work

Restaurant times have been changed in different provinces and regions. They are being forced to work for a certain period of time and then close the restaurant.

4) Home delivery service

Most restaurants are unable to provide delivery service which is affecting their daily sales. The most restaurants are taking advantage of services like Food Panda or other similar services, but their profits have definitely dropped.

5) Bullying of government institutions

The police and the local administration are harassing the restaurant owners under the guise of security arrangements. The police harass them under the pretext of checking various arrangements and try to take bribes from them. The restaurant gets heavy fines for not paying a bribe.

This situation has undoubtedly become a serious one. Despite all these challenges, the majority of restaurants seem determined. And their employers think about how to take care of their employees.

Working under certain conditions is no less to success. On the contrary, if we consider, it becomes clear that these are the heroes of the country.

We all pray to Allah Almighty to save us from Corona virus and other such contagious diseases. Remember, Champs Write doesn't run any food chain and this information is shared only for good purposes.
